NATURAL REGGAE1
Various Artists (c.1970)

Studio One SOL 9012
matrix: FCD 7229

A Message From A Blackman (Heptones); Now (Ernest Ranglin); Young Gifted And Black (Heptones); Gold Dust (Sound Dimension); Dying Love (Irvin Brown); Broken Ribs (Sound Dimension) // Popcorn Reggae (Soul Defenders); Life Could Be A Dream (Larry Marshall); Poison Ivy (Sound Dimension); The Pill (Brentford All Stars); Stranger In Love (John Holt); Drum Song (Jackie Mittoo)

Jamaican issue in split stereo (with the right channel favouring either the vocals or the solo instument). Now (Side 1 track 2) is wrongly credited to Lee Arab, and Pop Corn Reggae (Side 2 track 1) is wrongly credited to Sound Dimension. The glossy sleeve is printed by United Printers Limited. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))

A strong selection of titles featuring seven instrumental tracks. It was subsequently released in the UK on the Bamboo label as NATURAL REGGAE VOL.2, where Drum Song is replaced by I'm In Love With You (Lloyd Williams). Not to be confused with the NATURAL REGGAE album released in the UK on the Bamboo label which features the same cover photo.

(Thanks to Lionvibes for the blue on cream label illustration.)
