FREEDOM SOUNDS
Various Artists (1970)

Bamboo BDLP 205
Matrix: BDLP 205 A-1 *T // BDLP 502 B-1 *T

Lee Arab (Ernest Ranglin); Stay A Little Bit Longer (Larry Marshall); Funny Man (Horace Andy); Wire Higher (Jackie Mittoo); Do The Reggae (Freedom Singers); Freedom Horn (Carl Bryan) // Rome (Larry Marshall); Your Love Gets Sweeter (Irvin Brown); Freedom Street (Freedom Singers); Soul Food (Im & David with Sound Dimension); Mun Dun Gu (Im & David with Sound Dimension); Midnight Soul (Im & David with Sound Dimension)

Originally issued in the UK in a laminated sleeve printed in England by Richard Davis Limited. Note the mistake in the stamped matrix for Side 2, where 502 is lightly scratched out and 205 inscibed above by hand (hardly discernable on some later pressings). The cover design is by Horace Ove. ((Click sleeve to enlarge.))

All tracks are in mono, most of which are exclusive to this LP. Only four tracks were released as singles - Do The Reggae was originally released in Jamaica on the Coxsone label; Stay A Little Bit Longer was released as a single in the UK on the Banana label; Soul Food was released in the UK on the Bamboo and Ashanti labels, credited to Sound Dimension; in Jamaica it was titled Money Maker and credited to Im & David (on a Studio 1 label) and to Im, David & Scorcher, or Jackie Mittoo, on Coxsone labels. Mun Dun Gu was also released in the UK on the Bamboo label credited to Sound Dimension. Funny Man (Side 1 track 3) is credited to Freedom Singers but is actually by Horace Andy.
