Various Artists (2005)

Soul Jazz SJRCD114

Jah Righteous Plan (Willie Williams & Sound Dimension); Take A Ride (Al Campbell); Satta (Cedric 'Im' Brooks); A Message Of Old (Ken Boothe & Joe Higgs); Jah Jah Way (Jackie Bernard); Jah Hold The Key (Devon Russell); Small Garden (Zoot Sims); Sleeping Trees (Saints); Run Babylon (Larry Marshall); Babylon Rock (Vin Gordon); Talawah (Gladiators); African Skank (Prince Francis); Full Time (Cedric 'Im' Brooks); True Experience (Prince Lincoln); Behold The Land (Joseph Hill); Sun Is Shining (Winston Matthews); LK Strut (Karl Bryan); Holy Mount Zion (Count Ossie & The Zion All Stars); Tenor On The Call (Tommy McCook & The Discosonics)

Another excellent release from Soul Jazz, which complements and augments the 2001 release of STUDIO ONE ROOTS (Vol.1). Previously unreleased tracks include the superb Sleeping Trees by The Saints, Talawah by The Galdiators, Full Time by Cedric 'Im' Brooks and LK Strut by Karl Bryan. Any compilation which includes Devon Russell's Jah Hold The Key and Larry Marshall's Run Babylon is sure to get my endorsement - buy without hesitation.

The set is produced to Soul Jazz's usual impeccable standards, complete with cardboard slip case and informative booklet written by Steve Barker. (Nice to see a credit to Rob Chapman - just a shame they couldn't get the title of Never Grow Old right, though).
