Soul Jazz SJRCD056

Meditation (Cyclones with Count Ossie); Natty Don't Go (Cornell Campbell); Africa Here I Come (Freddie McGregor); Lumumbo (Bunnie & Skitter); Addis A Baba (Willie Williams); Set Me Free (L. Crosdale); Far Beyond (Leroy Wallace); More Creation (Lennie Hibbert); Blackish White (Alton Ellis); Fear Not (Winston Jarrett); Drum Song (Devon 'Soul' Russell); Africa (Gaylads); School Children (Black Brothers); You'll Get Your Pay (Linton Cooper); Congo Rock (Sound Dimension); African Challenge (Zoot Simms)

Superlative release from the excellent Soul Jazz label. You would have to pay a small fortune to pick up this collection on 7" or 10" (Africa Here I Come) vinyl. Only More Creation and Africa have previously been released on album or CD. What more could you ask for? If you don't already own a copy, then rush out and buy one now. It is impossible to be disappointed.

The set is produced to Soul Jazz's usual impeccable standards, complete with cardboard slip case and informative booklet written by Lloyd 'Bass Culture' Bradley. Revive compilation of the year - no question.
