A welcome collection of rare Wailers titles, comprising alternative takes and single mixes recorded at Studio 1 for Coxsone Dodd between 1964 and 1966. Although many of the titles are familiar none of them has appeared on previous Heartbeat compilations in this form. Most were originally released as singles in Jamaica on labels such as Supreme, Tabernacle, Wincox, Coxsone and Studio One. The comprehensive sleeve notes are written by Leroy Jodie Pierson and Roger Steffens, and include lyrics for most songs.
