Studio One SOLP 010
matrix: PSLP 010

Ska Diap (Glen Brown); Fun It Up (Tony & Howie); Music Like Dirt (Lyrics); Pupa Lick (Soul Vendors); Owner Fe De Yard (Ethiopians); Contemplating (Barrington Spence); You Were To Be (Gladiators) // Who La La (Glen Brown); What Am I To Do (Cables); Believe Me (Paragons); Small Garden (New Establishment); Make You A Woman (Kingstonians); Friends And Lovers (Soulettes); Sweetest Rocker In Town (Wailers)

Interesting and very worthwhile collection of Studio One and Treasure Isle 7" rarities, compiled by Duke Peckings and distributed by Peckings Studio 1, out of Shepherds Bush, London. Following the auction theme, the sleeve notes give guide prices for each track (nothing less than $50, and reaching $400 for Glen Brown's Ska Diap). There can't be many collectors who have more than one or two of these in their collection on 7", although several tracks have appeared on compilation before.

The contributions from The Gladiators and The Paragons were recorded at Treasure Isle, but the remainder are Studio 1 productions. Inevitably dubbed from discs rather than from master tapes, the sound quality is remarkably good throughout.
